KATE NELSON, Principal Designer
With a background balancing tradition and innovation, Kate approaches each project as an opportunity to create beautiful, livable spaces for her clients. Her natural proclivity is to put function before form, beginning with an understanding of the ways a space will be used before delving into the colors, finishes and details that bring it to life. KNI's projects reflect a classic aesthetic that reimagine traditional elements for a modern lifestyle. Kate's vast experience has provided her with a solid grounding in Project Management, an abiding respect for Early American Architecture, and strong, collaborative relationships with many design professionals and craftsmen in Vermont and beyond.
Kate lives in Weybridge, Vermont with her husband, kids and Border Collie. In her free time she enjoys cooking, gardening, running and going on adventures with her family.

HANNAH REID, Designer
Hannah joined Kate Nelson Interiors as a designer in 2022. After studying architecture at Middlebury College, Hannah spent many years in the communications and marketing field developing expertise in design thinking, storytelling, strategic planning, and complex project management. The resulting chimera-like hybrid of skills turns out to be perfectly suited to supporting clients to identify their own authentic style, and using that knowledge to design meaningful living spaces that achieve an ideal balance of function, comfort, inspiration, integrity, and elegance.
Hannah is a seventh generation Vermonter living in Montpelier, Vermont with her husband, two young sons, and Chocolate Labrador. In her free time Hannah enjoys reading, running, cross-country skiing, coaching soccer, antiquing, eating stinky cheese, and tending her vast collecting of house plants.
